Invisalign is a popular alternative to traditional braces. Using a series of clear aligners that are virtually invisible, Invisalign straightens your teeth and improves your bite without the restrictions that traditional braces can carry. Since they are removable, Invisalign allows you the freedom to eat the foods you love and brush and floss normally, and the aligners are free of wires or brackets that can cause irritations in the mouth.
Dr. Greg Nalchajian and Dr. Nicole Nalchajian are the leading experts in orthodontic care utilizing Invisalign. We offer this service to patients in both our Fresno, CA and Clovis, CA offices and will create a custom treatment plan to personalize your new smile!
What conditions does Invisalign treat?
Invisalign can treat a broad scope of orthodontic conditions, and many patients who are candidates for traditional braces are happy to find out they are also Invisalign candidates. Invisalign commonly treats orthodontic conditions such as
- Gapped teeth
- Overly crowded teeth
- Open bite
As orthodontic technology continues to advance, the range of problems that Invisalign can treat is also growing.
How does Invisalign work?
A comprehensive exam is the first step in any treatment process. We will map your entire treatment plan virtually during this appointment by utilizing the latest 3D imaging technology to create a digital impression of your teeth and jaws. Every adjustment is made during this time to ensure you receive the best possible result. The 3D imaging technique allows us to create the customized series of aligners you will be wearing throughout your treatment.
A typical Invisalign patient wears each aligner for two weeks at a time, only to be removed while eating, drinking, brushing, or flossing. After two weeks, the next aligner in the series is to be worn for following two weeks. These aligners slowly exert pressure on your teeth to gently shift them into alignment. You will need to visit our office every 6–8 weeks to ensure treatment is progressing as expected. On average, Invisalign patients wear a total of 18 to 30 aligners for anywhere between 9 and 15 months. However, it is important to keep in mind that total treatment time and the number of aligners vary from patient to patient because we customize each Invisalign treatment plan for every patient.
